Joan Robertson

A short Bio from Joan

I was born and raised in Regina and can't think of a better place to live. My working career began as a kindergarten teacher then I became a stay at home mum, ending up as a high school art teacher.

When I retired I decided to discover my music roots. I am a member of the Regina Mandolin Orchestra and teach adult beginners to play mandolin. I'm learning to play fiddle.

Directing the choir at St. James United takes up some of my time. That is where I first came across the Prairie Pride Chorus. When Kari became Director Erin asked me if I would be interested in accompanying the choir. I was already accompanist for the Martin High School choir but thought it would be a fine idea.

What a great group. Last year was lots of fun and much hard work so here I am again. This season I have taken over as Musical Director and with the Gala coming up in Winnipeg in 2010 this is an important year and I am looking forward to facing the challenges with the Prairie Pride Chorus.
